MING TECK PARK 2

The house at Ming Teck Park 2 came about due to the success of our 1st Ming Teck Park house. Having seen the original Ming Teck Park House, the new owners therefore contacted us to design their new house for them, just a few doors away.

It was definitely an honour and we of course accepted this commission right away! The ‘spatial layering’ initially employed in the original house was also used here; however, as the plot of this new house is noticeably longer and deeper, we made a deliberate decision to make the house to look more ‘sublime’ and more ‘atmospheric’. And of course, our trademark mark ‘courtyard’ was brought in again to illuminate and ventilate the deeper reaches of the house.

The materials’ pallet was pared down and simplified to a combination of dark wood carpentry, light wood flooring, black steel and glass. This materials’ pallet created a well-balanced counter point with the dappled light that streamed in from the courtyard. On cloudy or rainy days, the interiors exude an ‘out-of-worldly’ feeling that is hard to describe.

We definitely crafted something different in this house and no words can describe it. You have to see it to understand it.

We engage people and places to create designs that enrich the world.
